Good medical morning! Today we are going to talk about YouTube’s most popular dermatology series on YouTube. It comes to us from Dr. Vikram Vadav, the first popular dermatology expert on the platform.

The series is called Black and White heads on the Nose. It is a six part series that includes an elderly indian man and what appears to be his severe case of solar elastosis.

Solar elastosis affects people who have had long term sun exposure and is a feature of photoageing. It affects individuals of all skin types but its yellow hue is more obvious in white skinned individuals.

The first video in the series almost 7 million views and includes a quick introduction to the 80 year old patient. Unfortinately it isn’t well liked by fans, as the video only teases the popping.

In part two of the series Dr. Yadav uses a cone extractor on the patient’s nose. He also includes some amazing still images from before the extraction process. The general feedback from the audience is that Dr. Vikram doesn’t completely empty the comedones, leaving them partially clogged. Do you think this is because he doesn’t want to cause undue pain for the elderly patient, or is this poor form on the part of the doctor?

There is also some negative feedback about his not using gloves, which isn’t common among Western dermatologists. I’m personally a big Vikram fan, but it is interesting for me to see the differences in medical practices between the US and doctors in other countries.

Here are a few amateur pops without gloves. Do you ever wear nitrile gloves when popping pimples (text: link below to kit with gloves)

Later parts in the series star different patients. It should be noted that Dr. Vikram presents some of the most amazing macro photography around, especially considering the fact that a lot of this pre-dated Dr. Sandra Lee by several years. He was the first to bring high quality macro popping videos.

Part Five has about 17 million views. It is one of the most popular videos in the popping genre. We will put links in the description below. We respect Vikram’s copyright, so we didn’t want to show you too many of his pops in this video. Click like if you are a fan of his, or if you have watched his videos before.
