DIY Instrument Humidifier

My design is still experimental. I may need to add more holes- we’ll see.

(Note: you may have noticed my violin case did not close all of the way shut. This is because a rag on my left got in the way as I shut it. Had it not been there, the case would have closed cleanly.)

Humidifiers are necessary for all wooden instruments including violin, cello, bass, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, kiku or guitalele, wooden recorders, and many other wooden instruments.

If you own a string instrument and live in a cold or dry climate, then it is a good idea to considering keeping your instrument humidified. There are three common ways of doing this, and Laurel, a Shar Apprentice, goes over them in this video.
